Weddings
Congratulations!
So you are thinking of getting married in FGA? What is involved? Well, first of all you need to know that your decision to marry is a lifetime commitment. It is a commitment we at Full Gospel Assembly desire to help you keep as you begin this lifelong journey together. However, there are some house rules that you need to abide by. What are they? Please read on.
PRE-REQUISITES
The following pre-requisites are set by the Church and MUST be met:
1. Both parties must be born-again.
2. Both parties must be water-baptized.
3. Both parties must be a member of a Life Group or Home Fellowship for at least six (6) months BEFORE any application for marriage can be submitted to the church office.
4. Once pre-requisite No. 3 has been met, applications must be submitted to the church office six (6) months before the planned wedding date.
5. The couple is NOT co-habitating (living together) and/or involved in a sexual relationship.
6. All applications must be recommended by the Home Fellowship/Life Group Leader. Recommendations are based on regular attendance and character reference.
7. Full Gospel Assembly will officiate the wedding ceremony ONLY upon ALL pre-requisites mentioned in 1 to 6 above being met.
FGA Batu Pahat does not have a marriage registration license and therefore cannot conduct a wedding ceremony. The marriage must be registered first with an official Registrar of Marriage and the couple must take their own initiative to get their marriage registered before having the church blessing ceremony.
BLESSING CEREMONY
If the couple wishes to have the wedding outside the church premises i.e.at a hotel, the couple would be required to register their marriage at JPN. The couple MUST be registered first before the Blessing Ceremony can take place. Please try to fix the registration date at JPN as close as possible to the Blessing Ceremony date, preferably within the same week. FGA would then conduct a Blessing Ceremony for the couple provided the following requirements are complied with:
a) The pre-requisites 1 to 6 mentioned above are met.
b) The invitation cards should read “Blessing Ceremony of ………” and NOT “Wedding”.
For your information, if you wish to be registered on the same day of your ceremony, you can request JPN to send an officer to conduct the registration at the said premises. JPN charges a fee of RM500 for providing this service.
May God richly bless you individually, and as a couple, as you begin to plan for that exciting and rewarding journey towards being man and wife.
