The history of Panerai begins in Florence, where Giovanni Panerai opened the city’s first watchmaker’s shop in 1860. The company’s history is forever linked to the Italian Navy, when Panerai became a supplier of precision navigation and time instruments to the Italian Navy for many years.
Officine Panerai has always had a special place in the hearts of watch collectors and aficionados who appreciate high precision time instruments with a strong, distinctive, aesthetic and functional identity. Also, replica Panerai watches are rare among watch retailers. If you want a very rare brand – this is definitely the right choice!
Officine Panerai has broken new ground with its latest creation, a limited edition collection of pieces featuring dark green dials. While colored dials are something Panerai has produced only a handful of times, and the green version is certainly among the most striking, the shade is dark enough to have a bit of military flavor about it and is thus perfectly in line with Panerai’s aesthetics. There are two Radiomirs (PAM 735 and PAM 736), and a more complicated Luminor monopusher chronograph (PAM 737).
The Radiomir 8 Days Titanio PAM 735 is titanium (45mm) with Panerai’s hand-wound P.2002 movement and an eight day power reserve. At the 3 o’clock position is a magnified date window while at the 9 o’clock position is a small sub seconds dial. The hands are completed in a gold color which contrasts beautiful against the green dial. The watch is water-resistant to 10 bars or a depth of about 100 meters.
The next model in the green dial collection is the PAM736 47mm Radiomir 1940. The PAM736 has a Matte Green dial also featuring a date window at the 3 o’clock position.Measuring in 47mm, the watch will be too large for many would-be customers but certainly makes a definitive statement. The PAM736 is powered by the P.3000 hand wound 3 days mechanical movement manufactured in house in Neuchatel and is water resistant up to 100 meters.
The Luminor 1950 Chrono Monopulsante 8 Days GMT Titanio PAM 737 has a 44mm titanium case, a single-button chronograph and second time zone hand. This watch with Panerai caliber P.2004 (hand wind) has an eight-day power reserve shown on a linear indicator. The watch is water-resistant to 10 bars or a depth of about 100 meters.
